Attention: Bike Thief On The Loose In West Bend
A warning to all West Bend and surrounding residents please take extra care in securing your bicycles and being on the lookout for any suspicious behaviour.
As reported by a resident on the Toronto West Bend Community Association facebook page, two bikes were stolen around midday today, May 9th. They were stolen from a laneway garage between Kenneth and Abbott. They were both locked up and on private property giving cause for concern for all of us who want to continue to enjoy their bicycles this summer season.
The perpetrator is described as being around 40 years old with pocked, rough skin and a respectable set of teeth. White, Medium build, maybe 6ft tall. He has been seen wearing a black windbreaker and dark pants; riding a blue 10 speed that he admitted was stolen from "around here" (West Bend). If you see this man acting in a suspicious manner please call the police and try to keep our community safe.
As a cyclist, there is little more reprehensible crime than the thievery of a bike and I am hoping that this pattern does not claim anymore victims. If you see either of these bikes please contact the authorities.
