Record Breaking Sale at the Robert Watson Lofts

WOW – Record breaking sale price at Robert Watson Lofts on Sorauren Avenue.

A unit in the original portion of the Robert Watson Lofts sold last week for $1218  per square foot and without a parking space. This authentic brick and beam loft is located in one of the City’s last to be built conversion loft buildings at Sorauren and Dundas. At 605 square feet this one bedroom, one bathroom unit was listed at $499,900 and sold a week later for $737,000.

The strong appetite for the very rare post and beam conversion loft combined with an increasing desire for condo buyers to be in residential “neighbourhoods” as opposed to the fast paced downtown core likely contributed to the record sale price.

As single family home prices and condo prices increase more couples in their 30’s and 40’s are occupying condos and looking to be in more established areas with an older demographic than the downtown hi-rise in most cases can provide.
